The following was identified in "perirectal abscess fluid."
It measures approximately 55 microns in length. Identification?

Correction: Schistosoma intercalatum.

S. haematobium
are shed in urine, S. intercalatum are shed in stool.

The 'spine' I think is an illusion; the size is most consistent with Enterobius.

I should have looked at the size - it's too small to be a schistosome egg.
