Case of the Week 183

The following were seen on Giemsa-stained peripheral blood films. The objects shown measure approximately 220 microns in length. Identification? (CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE)

I'll go with Brugia malayi. Nice staining of sheath with Giemsa. Looks like sub-terminal and terminal nuclei in bottom pic.

Brugia malayi Microfilariae
Significant gap between terminal and subterminal nuclei.

Probably B. malayi, those terminal nuclei being pretty small.
