The following was seen in a peripheral blood smear in a traveler from Africa. I don't have a low power view, but these high power images should give you enough to make the diagnosis. (CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE)
Hmm... Sheath, shorter headspace, nuclei not quite going to the end of tail. I'd say it's Wuchereria. In a lower power view I'd expect it's a big worm! (not like those puny Mansonellas!)

ReplyDeletei vote for W.bancrofti b/c the nuclei do not extend to the very end of the tail and it's about 10 microns wide overall.
