    Acanthaemoba keratitis - beautiful stains!

    see many trophozoites with large central nucleolus visible within the nucleus plus plenty of characteristic wavy walled cysts

    Don't wash your contact lenses in tap water, Kids!

    Agree with above identifications: Acanthamoeba. Last picture is so characteristic of this amoeba. We rarely have such a beautiful case like this.

    Large Karyosome on the trophozoites and what looks like characteristic crenated star shaped cysts. There are few species of amoeba that traditionally cause this kind of damage and they are largely free living type amoebas. Amoebic keratitis is traditionally associated with Acanthamoeba sp.
