    The marking on the small scutum indicates this is an engorged female Amblyoma americanum. As the tick is full of "aspirations", the mouth parts and scaloping becomes less evident as these parts will be almost out of focus, a challenging photographic task.

    Amblyomma americanum engorged female as previously stated, as indicated by the size, and the markings on, the scutum.
