Case of the Week 643

This week's case is one I've previously shown before, but from many years ago. It's so cool looking that I thought it was worth showing again. The following object was found in a iodine-stained stool concentrate by Florida Fan. Any thoughts on what it is?

  4. Definitely a trichome! Peltate trichome in my opinion; possibly from Oleaster (olive tree).

  5. Agree with Idzi P. It´s similar to a stellate-lepidote trichome from a leaf of Olea europaea. It prevents evapotranspiration.

  6. I do not reallly agree with a Trichoma or Trichinosis; for me it looks more lime a parasitic infection or engulfed plant uncirculated with bacteria (?).

I have seen these but have zero clue on what they are (obviously not a human parasite or part thereof). I assume they are of plan origin.
