I also think that it is monocot crystals, such as pineapple, asparagus, etc. To differentiate them from fatty acid crystals, we can heat the slide: if they are monocot they remain, if they are fatty acid, fat droplets would form.
Charcot Leyden crystals. A breakdown product of Eosinophils. So this could be an indication of a potential helminth infection, or their presence could be due to another inflammatory reason (e.g allergy)
? negatively birefringent - look like urate crystals
ReplyDeleteCharcot-Leyden crystals (residue of eosinophils). Occasionally seen in stool of patients with hookworms or amebiasis.

Agree. Fruits or vegetables Crystals can be confused with Charcot-Leyden crystals.

ReplyDeleteFruit crystals. Very slender and long. Not looking like the Charcot Leyden ones.
ReplyDeleteAfter further search, I believe these are fruit crystals as illustrated in medical-labs.net. More than likely pineapple crystals.
