The following object was also observed in her stool. It measured approximately 50 micrometers in length. Identification?

Diphyllobothrium sp. Specific identification would require molecular techniques.
What a nice pictures! by the way

Resembles the Ramen that I used to eat in college, but pretty sure it's D. latum. Curious about other species that are infectious per Anonymous' comment.

Diphyllobothrium latum.
Was this little critter ever marketed as a "diet pill" as other tapeworms were?

I concur - D. latum. Very cool pics, Florida Fan. Any measurement taken of worm itself? Just curious...

Sweet Magnolia:
The specimen came as a knotted mess of several segments, possibly totaling about thirty centimeters. Would be nice if it came out intact, that would achieve an impressive few meters.

Very useful and Informative post about parasites. You cover the entire aspects of the parasitic infection nicely. Keep it up the great work. Here this is also one fact that we may use Zapper or Parasitic Zapper to kill these microbial infection through electrical shocks.
