Happy Thanksgiving day to my American friends! Here's a question for your consideration: which parasites can you get from eating undercooked turkey (the centerpiece of the classic Thanksgiving day feast)? Here is one of them in a squash preparation of a brain biopsy. What is it?

These appear to be tachyzoites of Toxoplasma gondii.
I think the same as Joe.

Agree with Joe, these are T. gondii tachyzoites, with it´s apical complex. Ultrastructurally are identifiable the conoids, and rhoptries of the tachyzoite. From undercooked turkey you can get probably Gnathostoma spp.
Tachyzoites of Toxoplasma gondii.
mmmmm, Toxo. . .
Toxoplasma gondii trophozoite tachyzoite
From undercooked turkey ..... Trichinella pseudospiralis
Very nice case of Toxoplasmosis. Such a case is so rare that most of us would not recognize the infective agents.
Thank you for an excellent educational posting.

I agree. Points for everyone.
After reading Bernardino's Thorough diagnosis I may have to go vegetarian this Thanksgiving day.
I agree with toxoplasmosis.
Wonderful parasite and a perfect subject for after-dinner conversations!
Although Toxoplasma changes the behavior of mice, its intermediate host (https://www.nature.com/news/parasite-makes-mice-lose-fear-of-cats-permanently-1.13777), recent studies demonstrated that it doesn’t do so in humans (https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0148435)...
Too bad... it was a great topic to entertain my students with...
