Case of the Week 785

It's the first of the month and time for a case from Idzi Potters and the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp!

The following images show an object that dropped out of a patient's nose 😮. What is your identification?

Wishing all of my American readers a very happy and restful Labor Day.

Botfly?

For sure a botfly, though I can only say that the history where the larva came from and the morphology of its mandible are compatible with Cochliomyia hominovorax.

It looks like bot fly larvae, hazarding a guess of Oestrus ovi.

After more searches on the morphology of the stigma and mandible, I believe the identification of Oestrus ovis makes sense.
