Pediculus humanus, corporis (body louse, male)

Pediculus humanus, adult male as evidenced by the rounded posterior and copulatory organ.

Medical Importance :
-Vector of epidemic typhus ( Rickettsia Prowazecki)
-Epidemic relapsing fever (Borrelia recurrentis)
-Trench fever ( Bartonella quintana )

Pediculus humanus, knowing where the louse was found would help in identification {corporis vs. capitis}.The size range is different between the two varieties. Also the body louse is more robust.
