Very nice photographs of Dientamoeba fragilis, with its fragmented nucleus. The last pictures shows the two nuclei. The trophozoites of this flagelate do not always show its two nuclei, yet if one finds on the formalin concentrate a trophozoite with a stretched out cytoplasm mimicking a dumb bell or two to tree uneven size balls of cytoplasm connected by a thread like extension of the cytoplasm, this is a very good indication of a D. fragilis troph.
